Brosius-Gersdorf gets emotional on "Markus Lanz": "I can't put up with this any longer"

Following the failed election for the Federal Constitutional Court, candidate Brosius-Gersdorf responded to the criticism directed at her. She also spoke on "Markus Lanz" about the violent threats against her.
On "Markus Lanz," Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf spoke honestly about her emotional state following the failed election of constitutional judges in the Bundestag. "You can perhaps imagine that the reporting [...] about me in recent weeks has not left me unscathed," said the lawyer. In this context, she criticized terms such as "ultra-left" and "radical left," describing some of them as "disturbing."
When the ZDF presenter wanted to know why Brosius-Gersdorf had decided to make a TV appearance just days after the failed election, the legal scholar explained that she wanted to objectify the debate . "I can't tolerate this any longer. I find it outrageous," Brosius-Gersdorf said. This provided a perfect opportunity for Markus Lanz , who followed up: "You seem deeply affected, hurt by this. Is it true that you've even received death threats?"
Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf explained thoughtfully: "Yes, we have received threats, especially me, via email, mail with suspicious content that was sent to my chair." Videos circulating online were also partly peppered with threats. "Of course, this worries me. Of course, it weighs on me," the lawyer said emotionally. In this context, she made it clear that criticism of her person could certainly be "exaggerated," because: "Freedom of expression, freedom of the press, is our highest good in the country. But this also has its limits."
Brosius-Gersdorf added: "One must face discussion and criticism – even harsh and pointed ones – but it is unacceptable in my view when individual theses are picked out and when sentences are misrepresented and taken out of context, and this was particularly the case with abortion."
You can watch the entire broadcast from July 15th in the ZDF media library .
